Lanser Supply — your supply network partner
Large-Format & Long-Part Machining
One-piece bases, oversized structures, and shafts up to 11 meters — machined where most shops can only weld. Verified floors, per-shipment inspection, DFM before the first cut.
Lanser Supply is a supply network partner for large and non-standard machined parts. When a part is too big for a standard fixture — or too long to turn in one piece on a conventional lathe — we match it to the right floor and own the setup, inspection, and delivery end to end.
Built for the parts shops turn down
Real working envelopes from our core facility and partner floors. These are the machines your oversized part is actually made on — not a brochure spec.
One-piece oversized bases
Bridge-type gantries to 6000×2700×1200 mm. Envelopes also at 3050×2100, 3000×1600, and 2000×1500 mm.
Most shops fixture parts under 3 m. Ours runs a single piece to 6.
Shafts, rolls & spindles
Turning centers handle long-axis work to Ø400 × 11000 mm in a single setup.
No mid-span joints, no straightness fights after welding.
Large multi-face parts
HMC cells to 1626×1270 mm on big castings and housings — multiple faces in one clamp.
Pallet changers keep large batches moving.
Verified before it ships
Hexagon CMM to 3000×1500×800 mm checks critical dimensions at size.
A report with every shipment — not a one-time sample photo.
Watch the machines run
Real footage from our audited network — the machines at work, not staged photos.
Sheet Metal · Fabrication
Cutting, bending and welding in the same building as machining — one PO.
Gantry · Large Format 6000×2700
One-piece non-standard bases up to 6 meters, machined complete.
From oversized blank to inspected part
Large parts fail at the edges — fixturing, handling, and verification — not at the cut. We coordinate the full path so a big part arrives straight, dimensioned, and documented:
- Gantry milling (up to 6 m) for one-piece bases, frames, and structures that standard shops can only build by welding
- Long-shaft turning (up to 11 m) for rolls, spindles, cylinders, and drive shafts machined in a single setup
- Horizontal machining (up to ~1.6 m face) for large castings and housings with multiple features in one clamp
- Large-format CMM inspection to 3000×1500×800 mm, with a report per shipment
Where we add the most value
One-piece, not welded
A 6 m gantry machines a base from a single blank. No weld seams, no distortion, no alignment guesswork after assembly — just geometry you can verify.
Long and straight
Shafts and rollers to 11 m are turned and checked in one setup. You avoid the straightness and runout problems that come from joined sections.
Verified at size
Large parts get the same CMM discipline as small ones. Critical dimensions are measured on a 3000×1500×800 mm machine, documented per shipment.
Materials we run on large parts
Common stock we handle routinely on oversized work:
- Structural steels & plates — bases, frames, and weldment alternatives for industrial equipment
- Stainless steel — 304 / 316 class for corrosion-resistant large components
- Aluminum alloys — lighter structural parts and enclosures
- Engineering plastics — POM, nylon, and PEEK where the application calls for it
Material certificates and certificates of conformance travel with the order on request.
By application
Large-format and long-part work tends to show up where standard catalogs stop:
- Automation & industrial equipment — frames, bases, beams, and structural brackets
- Energy & fluid power — shafts, rolls, cylinders, and housings
- Robotics & fixtures — large, alignment-critical components
- Non-standard structures — one-off and low-volume parts others turn down
Tolerances & inspection at size
We hold tight tolerances on large parts and verify critical dimensions on a CMM, with a report issued per shipment. Typical envelopes: gantry milling to 0.01 mm, horizontal and turning work to 0.005 mm, and CMM verification to 0.005 mm. Incoming material, in-process setup, and final inspection are documented so you can confirm what actually arrived — not a render.
DFM before the first cut
Large parts magnify small mistakes. Before metal moves, we review your drawing for manufacturability — fixturing access, stock availability at size, machining versus fabrication trade-offs, and where a one-piece design beats a welded assembly. Early DFM feedback typically saves more than a marginally lower unit price later, especially for low-volume and prototype work.
From first article to volume
The same engineering and production team carries your large part from first article to production — no re-qualification, no new baseline. That matters when a base or frame must be validated for fit and assembly, not just produced as a standalone component.
When a part won’t fit a standard fixture
Our non-standard manufacturing capability — including a 6-meter gantry — handles one-piece bases and oversized structures others turn down. See how we work and why our floors are verified.
Send a drawing of the big part
Send your drawing and we come back with a clear quote and a DFM note, usually within 24 hours — including how we’ll fixture and verify it at size.
