Wire EDM & Hard-Material Machining

Cut hardened steel, carbide, and exotic alloys with no cutting force — reaching internal corners and fine features that milling cannot. Sodick wire EDM, verified measurement, per-shipment inspection.

Wire EDM (electrical discharge machining) removes material by spark, not by a cutting tool. Because there is no mechanical force, it machines hardened and fragile parts that would deflect, crack, or work-harden under a mill — and it reaches true internal corners, thin slots, and fine detail other processes cannot.

Why EDM, why here

Hard materials, as-received

Machine hardened tool steel, carbide, and heat-treated alloys after hardening — no annealing, no softening step.

Internal corners & fine features

True sharp internal radii, narrow slots, and burr-free detail that a rotating cutter can never reach.

No cutting force

Thin-walled and fragile parts stay true. The wire never pushes the workpiece out of shape.

On the floor

EDM runs in the same verified, measurement-first environment as our CNC and grinding — so a part can move from mill to wire to grind and back without leaving the network.

Where EDM earns its place

When a part needs what cutting cannot deliver.

Tool & die
Inserts and components with sharp internal corners.
Hardened parts
Machine after heat-treat, no re-softening.
Fixtures & gauges
Wear-resistant and dimensionally stable.
Thin-wall parts
Fragile geometry stays true, no force.
Hard-stock prototypes
Real parts from solid hardened material.
Milled + burnt features
Combine EDM with CNC in one flow.
