Lanser Supply — your supply network partner
5-Axis & Complex Geometry Machining
Compound angles, undercuts, and multi-face features cut complete in a single setup — no re-fixturing, no stacked tolerances. Two true multi-axis centers plus rotary 4th-axis horizontals, all on audited network floors.
Most machine shops reach a part’s back side, angled holes, or undercut by flipping it two or three times. Every flip is a new setup — and a new chance to lose the tolerance you already held. 5-axis changes the math: the part stays put and the tool comes to it from every direction. What you hold is what you keep.
Why 5-axis, why it matters to your part
One setup, full part
Fewer setups mean fewer datums. A part machined complete holds the tolerance you drew instead of the tolerance you happened to re-index.
Compound geometry
Angled holes, contoured surfaces, and undercuts that 3-axis shops send out — or quietly turn into welded assemblies.
Finish & handling
Tilting axes shorten tool reach for cleaner surfaces, and one hold means fewer clamp and handling marks on the finished face.
Equipment that proves it
Two true multi-axis centers handle the free-form and 5-face work; three horizontal machining centers run rotary 4th-axis for larger multi-face parts. All positioned to 0.005 mm and audited in person before they touch an order.

Features 3-axis can’t reach.
Where we add value
3-axis shop
- Flips the part 2–3 times
- Tolerance stacks at every re-index
- Sends complex features out — or welds them
- More handling, more marks
Lanser — 5-axis
- Cut complete in one setup
- Tolerance held from first op to last
- Complex geometry done in-house
- Fewer holds, cleaner faces
